RON JOHNSON

After graduating from the University of Washington, Ron Johnson came to Portland and started a career in real estate finance and development. Thirteen years later, he was a Senior Vice President with what is now Key Bank of Oregon, managing its mortgage banking operations. During his banking career, Ron served in leadership roles for many local, state and national organizations. He next began a 20-year-long career of entrepreneurial self-employment that included many significant residential developments, affordable housing projects and heading the effort that won a HOPE VI grant for the $150 million redevelopment of Columbia Villa, Oregon’s largest public housing project. His community service includes being a founding member and Board Chair of a Community Land Trust and serving for many years on Clackamas County’s Planning Commission. Ron also authored a textbook and has been a frequent speaker, faculty member and trustee for many local and national educational programs. He recently returned to Portland State to earn a MBA and is beginning another career in research and teaching by pursuing a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurial Finance. |
