Molly Jo Deady

Molly Jo Deady (Washburn), the Associate Director of the Food Industry Leadership Center (FILC) in the School of Business at Portland State University, is responsible for outreach, relationship building, the operations of executive educational program, development/fundraising planning, marketing and coordinating the work efforts of the Advisory Board and Executive Committee. In addition, she overseas the student Ambassador program, scholarships, advises students and works on curriculum development. She is currently leading the FILC on its Diversity Initiative, including coordinating partnerships with the Network of Executive Women. She is also working with the Oregon Grocery Association and the Food Policy Council, and serving on the Board of the Inspirators and is working with them on their Annual Golf Tournament, which they have pledged part of the proceeds directly to the FILC. Molly will complete her Masters in Educational Policy, focusing on higher ed, adult learning, and corporate and executive education in 2004. She received her Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing and Management from the University of Portland and was honored as the top leader of the graduating class of 1999 with the Thomas A. Gerhardt Memorial Award for Leadership and Student Involvement. This award is given annually to one individual whose leadership produced a significant impact of the future of the University and its students. While attending college, Molly was heavily involved in student government, serving two consecutive years on the executive board as the student body Vice President and student body Secretary. In addition, she interned in the Summer of 1998 in the General Mills NW Sales and Category Management Office. She was married at Dolce Skamania Lodge in July 2003 to James Washburn. |
