Dave Garten

Dave comes to us with extensive experience in management, product development, and strategic alliances in high technology. He worked at Intel for much of the last 15 years, most recently as a General Manager, where Dave managed a division for communications products. Before that, Dave was a Director of Business Development where he developed, negotiated and executed diverse strategic relationships including joint ventures, licensing, strategic supply, acquisitions and equity investments. Dave has also held various product management, marketing, strategy and engineering positions in the technology and automotive industries. He originally engineered fuel injection systems for cars and trucks. Dave is actively involved in the community in education and the environment. He currently teaches graduate courses in Strategy, Strategic Alliances and Technology Commercialization at Portland State University and the Oregon Graduate Institute. Dave recently completed Portand’s Master Recycler program, and has put together an environmental program at a local elementary school. Dave has an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT (1987), a Masters in Engineering from Rensellear Polytechnic Institute (1985) and a Bachelor of Science from Trinity College in Hartford, CT (1982).
