Fiori Work to be Featured in Volume on Innovative Design
PORTLAND, Ore. —
October 15, 2003 —
Fiori, a contextual research and design firm, has been selected by IDSA to be included in the upcoming book “Design Secrets: Products. 50 Real-Life Projects Uncovered.” The work, on voice access microphones for Logitech/Labtec, will be featured alongside other exceptional products that were designed and developed over the last three years.
The Labtec Verse 504 & 514 Voice Access Microphones are desktop PC microphones used for video telephony and voice recording. The microphones set the standard for design in their category, and have received awards and recognition from Business Week, IDSA, ID Magazine and Japan’s Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO). The microphones have been among the most successful products in Logitech’s product portfolio. Hundreds of thousands of the microphones have been sold.
The book, to be released in 2004, will include a detailed case history on how the microphones came about — from the earliest planning stages and initial sketches/drawings to the final outcome and all the twists and turns along the way. “Design Secrets” looks behind the scenes uncovering the creative process, the challenges, and the solutions that produced the innovative end-result.
