Fiori announced today that they will be relocating to a new, larger studio space in Portland. Fiori will occupy the third floor of the Carriage and Grand Stable Buildings in Portland Oregon. The building is located at 415 SW Second Avenue, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Fiori announced completion today of a design program for Dagger, a leading manufacturer of Kayaks. Fiori’s design team and Dagger’s development team worked together to develop new touring and recreational kayaks to be launched in 2004. Fiori was awarded one of three Designing Worlds Awards at the recent Metropolis Magazine Business Unusual Conference in NYC held the week of May 19. The award for sustainable product design was received for our work for IdaTech on their 3kW Residential Fuel Cell power generator.
05.01 Fiori Wins Red Dot Award from DZNRW (Germany)
Fiori was recognized by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen (Germany) with their Red Dot Award for our work on InFocus Corporation's LP-130 Digital Projector. The award is given annually to products sold in Germany that represent the highest ideals of design.
02.01 Fiori Receives Exhibitor Magazine Design Award
Fiori recently won its first design award in a new category - exhibit design. The Special Merit Award was given in Exhibitor Magazine's Annual Design Review for exhibits under $150 per square foot. The winning exhibit was developed for IdaTech's traveling Trade Show Presence, featuring their award winning 3kW Residential Fuel Cell — also designed by Fiori.
02.01 Fiori Adds Research, Trends, And Interaction Design
Jennifer Wong, previously the Manager of Research and Trends at Nike's Equipment Group, is heading Fiori's new Research and Trends Group. She's joined by Jessica Coffey, previously Assistant Professor and Program Manager at NC State's Center for Universal Design, and Debbie Driscoll, who comes from Stanford's Product Design Program. The group will deliver consumer insight to help us develop products and services.
11.00 Fiori On Short List For Design Sense 2000 Award
Fiori has been named to the short list of candidates for the 2000 DesignSense Award for sustainable design sponsored by the Design Museum of London. The award is for products and structures that feature eco-friendly design as a core value. The short list consists of six structures and six products. Fiori's entry, the IdaTech 3kW Residential Fuel Cell is one of only two products selected from North America. "We are surprised and delighted to be selected for the final judging. It's nice to be included on the list with other companies like IBM and BMW," says Steve Rodden, Principal of Fiori.
